Company CEVEC focuses on the development of a platform expression technology based on specific human cell lines (CAP cell lines) and on the development of selected biopharmaceuticals. CEVEC was founded in 2001 by a group of internationally renowned scientists and clinicians from the University of Cologne. Based on their experience and their longstanding collaborative work they had experienced a lack of innovative expression systems for more efficient production of biologics such as recombinant proteins or gene therapy vectors.

   Using CEVEC's proprietary technology, primary human amniocytes have been immortalized by adenoviral genetic E1/pIX functions and selected for highly efficient CAP (CEVEC's Amniocyte Production) Cell Lines. CAP (CEVEC's Amniocyte Production) Cell Lines contain adenovirus type 5 nucleotide sequence 505-4079 including the E1 genes and the entire pIX sequence.
